🚨 Acute Medical Emergency Notice

YouAyurveda is not designed for acute medical emergencies. If you or someone you know is experiencing chest pain, acute shortness of breath, loss of consciousness, severe hemorrhage, poisoning, stroke symptoms, or severe trauma, immediately dial 112 or 102 (India National Emergency) or proceed to the nearest emergency hospital.

1. No Doctor-Patient Relationship Through Digital Content

The articles, herb monographs, Q&A forum replies, Prakriti quiz results, and dietary tips published on YouAyurveda are provided strictly for educational, informational, and wellness literacy purposes.

Accessing or browsing digital material on this platform does not constitute the establishment of a formal doctor-patient relationship between you and YouAyurveda, nor does it establish such a relationship with any individual physician author until an official one-on-one clinical consultation has taken place.

2. The Principle of Individualized Ayurveda (Prakriti vs. Vikriti)

Classical Ayurveda (Ayurveda Shastra) is inherently personalized. What is restorative for one individual may provoke dosha imbalances in another:

🌿 Prakriti & Doshic Balance: Your unique psychosomatic constitution (Vata, Pitta, Kapha) dictates diet, herbs, and therapies suitable for your physiology.
⚖️ Desha, Kala & Agni: Efficacy of classical remedies depends upon digestive capacity (Agni), season (Ritu), geographic climate (Desha), and current pathological state (Vikriti).

Consequently, never initiate treatment solely based on generalized articles or online quizzes without pulse diagnosis (Nadi Pariksha) or direct assessment by a licensed Ayurvedic physician.

3. Hazards of Unsupervised Herbal Self-Medication

While Ayurvedic botanicals are natural, they contain potent pharmacologically active compounds. Natural does not mean free from adverse effects or contraindications:

  • Drug-Herb Interactions: Herbs like Ashwagandha, Guggulu, Shatavari, or Triphala can interact with modern pharmaceuticals including anticoagulants, antihypertensives, thyroid hormones, and immunosuppressants.
  • Rasashastra Formulations (Herbo-Mineral Preparations): Classical medicines involving purified minerals and Bhasmas must be manufactured under strict Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and administered exclusively under clinical guidance.
  • Do Not Discontinue Allopathic Medications: Never adjust, reduce, or stop existing prescription medications (e.g. insulin, cardiac drugs) based on Ayurvedic information on this site without explicit consultation with your prescribing medical doctor.

4. Special Vulnerable Populations

Extreme caution is warranted for specific patient groups:

🤰 Pregnancy & Lactation (Garbhini Chikitsa): Many Ayurvedic herbs (e.g. Aloe Vera, Pippali in large doses, Commiphora mukul) are contraindicated during pregnancy due to uterine-stimulating or hormonal effects.

👶 Infants & Pediatrics (Kaumarbhritya): Dosages for infants and children must be calculated on specific body weight and Agni criteria by an Ayurvedic pediatrician.

👴 Geriatrics & Chronic Degenerative Diseases: Multi-morbid patients require careful dosage titration and liver/kidney function monitoring.

5. Independent Practitioner Standing

Practitioners listed on YouAyurveda are independent medical professionals. While we verify valid AYUSH credentials, registration certificates, and clinic licenses prior to listing, YouAyurveda does not endorse, guarantee, or warrant specific therapeutic outcomes, diagnostic accuracies, or treatment results. Patients exercise their own discretion when engaging practitioners.
